Welcome back to our blog! Today I am going to share one of our happiness this month the three children who have received Ichikraft's assistance got their monthly money with an additional allowance!😎

On March 21st, 2023, my dearest friend, Riche, sent me a message that Uun, Suci, and Novi, finally came to her house and took their money. Usually, they come on the 20th of each month but this March 2023, it looks like they have another thing to do. I am pretty much happy to see them even though only pictures. I could see all of them are safe and sound!😊

Last update I mentioned that Riche and I have discussed some options for Novi after graduating from high school. I have given her some ideas to take a course to obtain a skill with the hope Novi will be hired by local businesses such as a saloon, tailor, a bakery shop et cetera. In my view, if she gets one of those skills, it is far easier to find a job. After having a job, she could save money for university later if she wants a university degree. That's my idea. And I was surprised, after searching for the information last month, I found that there is a way for Novi to enroll in university by scholarship that the government offers. At the university where I finished my Bachelor's degree alone, 5 types of scholarships have been offered; academic performance, non-academic performance, for instance, sport, art, music et cetera, and three other scholarships. That's amazing compared to my era, even though my academic performance steadily increased each quarter and I hold a non-academic certificate, I did not have a chance and no one offered me a scholarship to university. Sad, yes it was. But, nowadays, I think there is no excuse to not apply for university programs as the Indonesian government gives free study for 4 years at a university for students who come from low-income families. It is a piece of good news! Moreover, there are also free courses from the government for example business administration, sewing, design, computer, et cetera. Those are helpful information for Novi as she is a smart student. However, it depends on her motivation.

Unlike a month before, this March 2023, I gave a special treat to Novi, Uun, and Suci.  Each one of them has received IDR 600,000. They will celebrate Hari Raya Puasa next month so I sent additional money. The purpose is that I want them to celebrate a festive season like others, maybe to prepare a chicken dish, or perhaps buy cookies. The amount of money increased double as compared to last year from IDR 300,000 to IDR 600,000. The reason is that this year I decided to not buy dresses for them and gave them money instead. Therefore, they are able to choose where they want to buy the dress at an affordable price. Sometimes, people who live in poverty think in a different way; take one example they prefer to buy fabric and send it to the tailor because it is cheaper rather than buying a dress at a shop. Similar to me in the past, I bought the fabric at the market and paid a tailor. The total cost was about IDR 25,000 and I was happy and did not complain about the quality of the fabric because I made my own design. Sometimes, a good business owner gave me 1.5 meters of fabric for free!😁 Each year when my grandmother got some fabrics, she shared them with me too. In this case, I did not care about the color, and I did not make a fuss about the pattern of the fabric either; I just felt grateful for what I had, that's all. When the fabric is free, it meant the total cost was less than IDR 25,000 to wear a proper dress. Awesome, right?😉 However, it was a different story if I bought a dress from a shop at the market; at least I needed IDR 100,000. Therefore, based on my experiences, I give them the freedom to choose and decide.

Along with a special treat, Novi got IDR 300,000 for her school assistance. Meanwhile, Uun and Suci had IDR 175,000 each of them. In addition, IDR 100,000 for each one of them to support their family. With a little help, I hope these children are able to support the school matters such as buying stationery, a school bag, school shoes, et cetera.

Welcome back to Ichikraft update! Today I am going to share our happiness with all of you as the three children who have received our hands finally got their monthly money!😉

Last evening, my dearest friend, Riche sent me a message that Uun, Novi, and Suci came to her house to get their school assistance money. As usual, coming together each month despite the fact they have different activities and schools. As far as I can see, those children become best friends and support each other! Hopefully, it will long last!🤗

Same as last month, Novi got IDR 300,000 for her school assistance, meanwhile, Uun and Suci received IDR 175,000 each. Additionally, each one of them has obtained IDR 100,000 since COVID-19 struck our world. Although this year the situation gets better, I am still willing to give them this additional money to support their family.

Besides talking about school assistance, if you are following our news, last month I mentioned that Novi must start to think about joining courses to get skills so that she will be able to find a job after graduating from high school. Indeed, this year is her second year, but if she wants to change her future into a better one, she must work harder by making a plan. Last night, my dearest friend, Riche told me that Novi wants to discuss it with her parent and I respect that. I assume that she has no clue about what she wants in this life. Compared to the young me, in my second year of high school, I had already decided to study abroad and I literally picked economics as my future career since I was in primary school. Indeed, Novi is not me, so I can not expect something similar in my case. Thinking back to the old day, I decided on anything that was associated with my dream on my own. Once my father told me this when I was in second or third grade, "you must study hard at school, and get into university to study economics." He mentioned "marketing" which I had no idea about it. After that, my father never interfered with my study matters, my future plan, and what I was doing. He knew and believed I was able to manage myself; as long as I was in the economics field, he was just happy. The thing that made him complain and mad was when I came home from the workplace at 9 PM or 10 PM

Maybe I am being rigid because many teenagers are still enjoying their high school full of fun or romance. In contrast, I asked Novi to make her future plan by joining courses to obtain a skill as the first step to changing her life. It sounds not fair, isn't it? But this is the real life that she must encounter and endure. And life has never been fair. If we come from low-income families, to reach the goal we have to make a lot of sacrifices and work harder than others. Otherwise, the circle of poverty has never broken.  That's the reality. I hope she can learn and get strong day by day.

January 2023, Ichikraft's School Assistance Has Been Distributed

It's been a while, how have you been? I hope you are safe and sound! Well, today I am going to share our good news! Of course, that the three children (Novi, Suci, and Uun) have received their monthly money!

I know, I am late to write an update despite the fact that those children have always gotten school assistance on the 20th of each month. This January 2023, they also came to Riche's house on 20th January 2023. Therefore, Riche sent me a message that evening. But, unfortunately, I was exhausted both physically and mentally. Yeah, for a year I had been preparing for my further education. As the consequence, my energy has been drained. Actually, since December 2022, I was at my limit yet I pushed my limit.  So, today I must write the update even though I am still not fit.

This month (January 2023), Novi, Uun, and Suci got the same amount of money as the month before. Novi received IDR 300,000, meanwhile, Uun and Suci got IDR 175,000 each. In addition, each one of them has gotten IDR 100,000 to support their family. I hope they are able to spend the money wisely at least to buy textbooks, school shoes, or a school bag. I know, some of you may think this money is only a small amount. However, a small/ little thing would give them hope for a better future.

This month I sent a message through my dearest friend, Riche. I gave a piece of advice for Novi to learn a new thing such as taking a baking/ cooking course, sewing/ design, handicraft course et cetera.  I also said if those courses are not available in the village where she lives, then gets experiences in the real life, for instance helping someone in the neighborhood who has a business. By helping cooking or making pastry part-time, or perhaps at the saloon, so she will obtain skills. With the skills Novi has, she will be able to find a job after graduating from high school, save money each month, and eventually will able to attend university. That is the main reason why I am eager to send this message. On top of that, I can not help her forever, so she must start to become an independent girl now. Indeed, I hope Novi gets a chance to study at a university, however, it is up to her to determine what she wants. Being born into a low-income family will make someone work harder and study furiously to reach a big dream. It is not piece of cake and needs years of work.

I do really hope, those children are able to have a better future by breaking the circle of poverty. I have believed that education is a passport to get a better life in the future, bringing us from nowhere to somewhere. Therefore, Uun, Suci, Novi, or any other children who have lived in poverty must study hard at school and work hard on their dream.

December 2022: Ichikraft's School Assistance Has Been Distributed

It's been a while, how is it going? Hopefully, all of you are in good shape! Today I am going to share our happiness that the three children have gotten their school assistance this month!

On my side, December is the busiest month! But actually, since November, I have prepared birthday presents as some people close to me celebrate their birthdays; one in November, the other in December and January. Secondly, sending some packages is also an annual routine. On top of that, buying cookies or cake for the neighbors is some kind of my tradition. Some people might think that I do those things to show off. In reality, since I was a child my father taught me to share happiness with others by sending food or gift. Each year when my father was a successful career man, a week before the festive season, at home we cooked a lot of food or you can say we gave a complete package meal for each neighbor and our entire families who lived in the neighborhood. On special occasions such as death anniversaries, my father would invite at least 60 people. Indeed, we prepared meals, snacks, and drinks for those people. Moreover, each guest would bring home complete meals for their family at home. For low-income family that time, when someone knocked on their door and gave them food, it would bring a smile to their face.  Regardless race, religion, and language, we just want simply to share joy. That is how I share joy and happiness; simply through food.

Speaking of which, I got a message in the evening from my dearest friend, Riche, on December 20th, 2022. Suci and Novi came to take their monthly money. Whereas Uun, Riche told me that she was sick so did not catch up with those children. However, this morning Riche sent me a message that Uun finally showed up and got her school assistance. I bet Uun gets better today.  I made a small discussion with Riche about two days ago. As I consider Riche and her family will be going on a trip/ holiday this Friday, I mentioned letting Uun take her monthly assistance in January along with school assistance in that month. However, Riche came up with the idea that her daughter is available and she could send Uun's money. I rejected that idea because I knew that Riche and her family are busy preparing for the trip. And it is good to know, finally, Uun came to Riche's house.

The amount of money for Uun and Suci, each got IDR 175,000 for school assistance and IDR 100,000 each to support their family. Meanwhile, Novi received IDR 300,000 for her school assistance and IDR 100,000 to support her family. All of the children are on school holiday and I do hope they have always worked hard at school and found their passion.

It's been a while, how are things going? I hope all of you are in good shape! Welcome back to Ichikraft's project update. Today I am going to share our happiness that the three children have received their monthly school assistance.

Yesterday, I got a message from my dearest friend, Riche, that Uun, Novi, and Suci, came and got their money. Indeed, they visited Riche's house together. I just found out that recently Uun is able to join Suci and Novi because she has to attend another school at late noon, therefore it is hard for her to come together monthly to Riche's house to take the school assistance. I assume, maybe Uun has a little time nowadays. Whatever it is, I am happy to see them together. Well, I bet they have become besties!

Same as a month ago, the amount of money that Novi received IDR 300,000; for her school assistance. Meanwhile, Uun and Suci got IDR 175,000; each. In addition, IDR 100,000; each to support their family. If you are following Ichikraft's project, you noticed that we decided to give additional money to support those kids' families due to the COVID-19 crisis. However, we are willing to give this supplementary money even post-pandemic. The reason is just I want to assist their family; that's all. I know, IDR100,000 is not much, but I hope they are able to manage it wisely, at least to buy rice for the family.

Another thing is that, for you who are new here, you might wonder, why Novi has gotten more school assistance as compared to Uun and Suci. If you are curious about it, I suggest reading our articles so you would understand because I would not write the reason here.

October 2022: Ichikraft's School Assistance Has Been Distributed

It's been a while, how have you been? Hopefully, all of you are safe and sound. Today I am going to share good news from Ichikraft's project where school assistance for October 2022 has been distributed successfully. On top of that, I am happy to see the three children look good and healthy. I am relieved.

On Thursday evening, or basically on 20th October 2022, my dearest friend, Riche, sent me a message that Novi, Uun, and Suci came to her house and have already taken their monthly money. When I saw their pictures, I just realized that they grow faster and haven't noticed that we assist them for 5 or 6 years already. I do still remember the first time I saw their pictures, these three children were still small as compared to their pictures recently. Since Novi attends high school, there is a critical moment where she needs to figure out what the next step in her life is after graduating.  I wish the best for her!

The amount of money the children received was definitely the same as a month before. Novi got IDR 300,000 , Uun had IDR 175,000, and Suci hold IDR 175,000. And we gave IDR 100,000 to each one of them to support their family. Indeed, we want to do more, for instance, giving them additional assistance, maybe an English course, or perhaps a computer, art course,  et cetera so that they will obtain another skill and it could lead them to the career they want when becoming adults. Unfortunately, Riche said there is no such kind of courses in the village. No offense, it is an old story that I had this experience before while studying in my hometown. Personally, it is one of the reasons why I chose to move out of my birthplace.

Many thanks to my sweet friend, Riche, who has always helped me to make Ichikraft's project succeed. And it is my greatest joy if I am able to lend my hands to assist others. Small act for a big hope, that is what about this certain project. Today, only some children, but who know in the future. The future is a mystery.

September 2022, Three Children Receive Ichikraft School Assistance

Welcome back to Ichikraft SG or Ichikraft Give and Care. Today I am going to share one of our happiness this month, September 2022. And it is a piece of news from the three children who have received their monthly school assistance.

On September 20th evening, my dearest friend, Riche, sent me a message that the three children who have received our assistance since 2017 came and got their monthly money. This time the three of them visited Riche's house together. I was glad to see them safe and sound despite the fact that even though the COVID-19 crisis is finally over but there is high inflation also in Indonesia where prices surge without mercy. I wonder how low-income families survive and how they get through a dire situation like this. Therefore, I have decided to take economic policy because I want to know and learn more about inflation. Indeed, I am excited about digital marketing as well, however, I am willing to learn a new thing especially when it will help others. My dream has always been the same for years since I was in fifth grade, to get a higher level of education so that I am able to help others.

Like a month before, the amount of money that we gave to Uun, Suci, and Novi, is the same. Each one of them got IDR 100,000 to support their families. This certain money to help them during the COVID-19 crisis. As today, it becomes inflation support for them. I know, it is only a little money yet if you are in their position, this is precious and they value this little money. Based on my experience, in the past, I had always greatful everytime rceived assistance monthly, no matter how much that money. For people who assisted me, those money might be small, but for me it was a big help. I think that the same feeling for those children. In addition, IDR 175,000 each for Uun and Suci, and IDR 300,000 for Novi as she is in high school now.

Many thanks to my friend, Riche, who has helped me to distributed this school assistance monthly. I have never been soo lucky to have such a friend like her. As you know, to work with me in this project will require a big heart to do it. There no monthly salary, incentive, or compensation to do this job. Riche is an amazing person because she is an educated person, a succesful career woman, business woman, and also a mon as well, yet still willing to give hands to reach out those children. What an amazing personality.

August 2022, School Assistance Has Been Distributed

Welcome back to Ichikraft's project update. Today I am going to share the good news that I received last Saturday. What is it? The three children who are assisted by Ichikraft have gotten their monthly money!😉

On Saturday evening my dearest friend, Riche, sent me a message that Suci, Uun, and Novi came to her house and received their school assistance for this month (August 2022). Yeah, they come each month to Riche's house on the 20th. Sometimes they come together, but another time Uun will come alone as she has to attend two schools. On Sunday, I sent a message to Riche that I want Novi to start to think about what she gonna do after finish her high school. Riche also mentioned Novi enrolled finance program in her school which is good in my opinion. Indeed, I hope she will attend university to get Bachelor's degree in economics. However, as I talked about it before in the previous article, tuition fees alone are high in the country where I was born and raised when we are talking about higher level education, in this case, university life. Supplementary with room rent, cost of living, transportation, and other matters for instance buying textbooks, and money for projects or papers, make most poor parents give up their children from school. I have seen children who come from low-income families drop out and just hold primary school certificates. It is a regular scene in the place where I come from. Therefore, in Novi's case, as she attends high school since June this year, I want her to sharpen her mind to think further because 3 years in high school is a short glimpse. If she has a desire to continue her study at a university, right now she must make a plan because I can not help her forever. And there is a day when she must become independent.

Based on my friend's experience, in this case, Riche, after graduating from high school, she took a course in early education. Riche said if she had money of course she wanted to enroll university program directly. After the course ended, Riche took a job as a teacher at a local kindergarten. 2 or 3 years later, while working she was also studying in order to get an associate degree/ Diploma. Then she got married and started to run her own school. What I admire most about Riche is that she did not stop to continue her study even though have a new title as a wife and mother. Eventually, she finished her Bachelor's degree in education. If I account for it, in total to get Bachelor's degree, she needed 10 years. And until today, Riche still wants to upgrade her degree and skill. Amazing, right? Nothing is impossible. This is a great example for Novi to look up at Riche's experience. Yeah, maybe it takes a long journey just to get Bachelor's degree but do not easily give up.

So, speaking of which, same a month before, Uun and Suci, got IDR 175,000 each for their school assistance. Meanwhile Novi, she received IDR 300,000. In addition, IDR 100,000 for each one of the children to support their family. I hope even though only a small help, they are able to use the money wisely.
