Infrastructure, is the main key for a success country. But most importantly, education, is the important key to succeed in life. That is what we believe. For most of us, education is cheap. But for other people of the world, education is expensive. We realized, someone from other part of the world, they start the day with just less than $1 a day. There will be no access for education, which also leads to poverty.
Sometimes the issue is not that simple. In our village for example, nowadays kids would love to watch adult drama on TV, singing adult songs, just play around and nothing to do. Then when they grow, they’ll become ignorant, still love to play around with brand new motorcycle. They’ll choose motorcycle over a good grade of education.
Start from there, we feel that something must be changed. Start by little gesture, we sent a pack of books for kids, because we know we can’t change the adult’s mind. So we started from kids and start to grow the need of education by sending them books that will pump their curiosity.
We did it!
Some of kids in our village came and read books we’ve sent. We placed the books in our friend’s house. She is a teacher in a primary school. They seemed to love it. But then, when they have finished with the books, they won’t come again. So we sent them again and again.
To our initiatives, we thought of asking 100 books from National Library Board of Singapore. An email was sent to them and they replied with good news. It was at 2013. The books we asked for, is ready for collection. Again, all books are “certified” for kids. Only one problem, it was written in English. Ahhh…. let us allow them to read different books with different language, we’ll see what’s their reaction.
Not bad, they were a bit confused, but it was fine. That’s all for now. We’ll keep you updated.
